The YMCA Counselor in Training (CIT) program is perfect for Preteens and Teens going into 7th grade and above for the 2023-24 school year. The CIT program will not only get them off screens, but also beginning their training as future YMCA Camp Counselors. They will develop their skills in leadership, responsibility and caring while also having fun!

CIT camp will be held in conjunction with Summer Day Camp at beautiful Camp Child, where all the kids will canoe, swim, fish, and explore the great outdoors. CIT campers will spend the first part of their days in small groups doing team building activities, leadership games and character-building projects. The second part will be filled with fun zip lining, climbing, swimming, canoeing, playing disc gold, and practicing archery.

The second part of the day allows these older kids to practice their leadership skills by assisting the counselors by helping lead the younger kids at camp, and with projects. This program is intended to challenge and prepare our future leaders and create leadership traits that will last a lifetime.
