American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

The blended learning option combines online learning with in-person skill sessions conducted by a Red Cross-certified instructor.

Dates and Times: 

Session 1: Friday, April 30th – 3:30 pm-5:00 pm (Pre-Course Skills Test and Intro to course)
Session II: Monday, May 10th – 3:30 pm -6:00 pm (Zoom Review)
Session III:  Saturday, May 15th – 11 am-5:00 pm (In-water portion and Final Test)

REGISTRATION CLOSES FRIDAY, APRIL 23RD

Mandatory Prerequisites:

Must be at least 15 years old by the last day of the course

  • Must complete online portion prior to first day of class. A link will be send out as soon as the instructor receives your registration.

• Successful completion of skills pre-test:

o 300-yard continuous swim (freestyle and/or breaststroke)
o Tread water with no hands for 2 minutes
o Swim approx. 20 yards, surface dive to depth of 7-12 feet, retrieve 10lb object, kick on back carrying the object approx. 20 yards, exit the pool without the ladder in under 1 minute and 40 seconds

 

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Blended Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over
