REGISTRATION CLOSES JULY 12th

Helena's Annual Summer Slam 3-on-3 basketball tournament will take place on the blacktop at the Y parking lot. 3rd grade through adults are all invited to participate in this fun, outdoor summer basketball tournament.

Summer Slam is Helena's outdoor 3-on-3 basketball tournament.  The tournament is open to players of all ages and abilities.

Youth Divisions for Girls and Boys  3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th grades. High School and Adult Divisions Female, Male, and Co-ed. When registering: choose your child's current grade for the 2016-2017 school year.

Weekend event includes games, music, food, and Player's and Champion's shirts for each division. Games will be played at YMCA parking lot near Centennial Park. Participants form their own teams of 3 players minimum and 4 players maximum and submit a registration form to Helena Family YMCA or register online at helenaymca.org.

$90 per Youth & High School team, $110 per Adult team.

*To guarantee a player t-shirt & correct size, Registration Forms must be received by: deadline TBA.

**To be eligible for the tournament, teams must be registered by: July 12th

Enhance Fitness

ActiveOlderAdultsThe Montana YMCA Alliance, with the help from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), is bringing a statewide initiative to help citizens better understand arthritis.

Arthritis affects 1 in 5, or 52.5 million American adults, and is the nation's most common form of disability.

Enhance Fitness is a chronic disease prevention program designed to help improve daily living.

Enhance Fitness is evidence based through studies several studies and finding:

  • 52% improvement in depression
  • 35% improvement in physical function
  • Participants had fewer hospitalizations & $945 less in annual healthcare costs

16 week session runs January 18th- May 5th, 2017

Class meets Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 1:10-2:10PM at the Helena Family YMCA.

Summer BOOT CAMP is a high-intensity, total body sport conditioning workout program incorporating cardio, strength training, weights, plyometric, & agility exercises.  You will be stronger, healthier, lose weight, tone up, & gain confidence!

Classes progress each week building upon 'skills & drills' learned on the speed ladder, through a dynamic warm-up with dot training and a circuit routine from the week(s) before.  

NEXT SESSIONS: 

Summer Session I: June 12-July 14

Summer Session II: July 24-August 25

Monday - Wednesday - Friday, 6 - 6:45 AM

Members: $38    Prospective-Members: $68


TEEN FITNESS CLASS

Teens!  Questions about fitness?

Are you wanting to learn how to use the fitness equipment? Are you needing instruction on proper lifting technique, using the cardio machines, or learning about free weights?

Our popular Teen Fitness class continues this spring.  Class is led by Helena Family YMCA Health & Wellness Director Katie Gilboy and meets for two 45 minute class sessions. Sessions are held once a month in the evenings.

Spring Sessions:

March 1st at 4:00 pm

April 5th 6:00 pm

May 3rd 6:00 pm

*Students will receive card entitling use of the YMCA Fitness Center
*Students will learn safe practices and techniques in using workout equipment

A (5) student minimum and a (12) student maximum will be applied to the session.

Enroll at the Helena Family YMCA Front Desk.

Total cost $15 for Members, $20 for prospective-Members.

These are the tenets of Taekwondo as taught by Diana Wilson V Dan Instructor.

Classes are taught Mondays & Thursdays 6:30 - 8:00 PM.  All ages welcome.
