For those who do not know me, I love kids sports and it saddens me that we will not be able to offer fall soccer, basketball, or volleyball. In order for the YMCA to fund most sports or program activities we need to have a high level of participants. The recent survey reflected that many parents were not yet comfortable with their kids participating in sports.

As you know COVID-19 has been hard on all businesses, including the YMCA. Currently, all programs at the YMCA are being evaluated by the following criteria: are they safe to operate, and will they cover all the expenses including staff, equipment, field rental, and COVID-19 related costs? If the answer is yes, then we will proceed with the programs.

We are planning to offer Zumba Kids and Brand X this fall. Watch the YMCA’s website and Facebook page for more information.

I am still holding out for winter sports and we will be evaluating in the near future.
