The Montana YMCA Youth and Government Program provides a fun and educational Youth Legislature and Model Supreme Court for high school students which allows them to learn about state government and the political process. The program is based on the rules, procedures, and traditions of the real Montana Legislature and Supreme Court.

Calendar of Dates 2018

Friday- February 2nd     Registration (On-Line at regy.co) and Special Applications

Friday – March 2nd          Registration and Special Position Applications DUE (On-Line) All on-line registrations will generate an invoice to the Advisor, which the Advisor downloads

Sunday – March 4th      Elected Officers Meet at Wheat Montana in Three Forks to eat lunch and choose leadership positions (11:00 am to 2:00 pm)

Tuesday – March 6th     Legal Briefs Due (submitted digitally to Ms. Tennant- [email protected])

Sunday – March 11th     Leadership Training for Committee Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and Officers – In Livingston noon until 3:00 (lunch will be provided)

Friday – March 16th     Bills/Lobbyist Information/Press Editorials/Platforms Due.  1 bill per legislator, minimum; 2 bills per legislator, maximum.  Advisors will review and okay ALL bills on Regy and submit. File names will include the author’s name and the delegation’s name.

Friday- March 16th     Special Application positions announced

Sunday – March 25th  Leadership Training for Committee Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and Officers – In Butte from noon until 3:00 (lunch will be provided)

Friday – April 6th      Justice Training in Helena – Supreme Court Building

Monday- April 9th      Bench Memos due (email to [email protected])

April 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th                    State Conference

Balance of Payments due ($55 X # of delegates attending – remember, deposits of delegates who do not attend are NOT deducted from what you owe at registration)

Tuesday – April 17th Advisory Board Meeting @ Capitol, 7:00 am   (Youth Governor & Youth Chief Justice need to attend – talk to Ms. Tennant if you need help with transportation!)
